Essential Elements 2000 and Accent on Achievement are two great school band methods to work with. Essential Elements includes a DVD to help you with your positioning and embouchure.
Sound Innovations is a brand new method book from Alfred Publishing. This innovative method book combines the use of new technologies with time-tested pedagogy to create a system of learning unlike any other. Each book comes with an MP3 disc and a DVD. Of course, it takes more than just a really great book to begin playing the trumpet. The number of accessories can be overwhelming-metronomes, mutes, mouthpieces, valve oil and more! We recommend you start off with a metronome, valve oil, and a trumpet snake. The valve oil and the trumpet snake are essential tools for taking care of your horn.
Arban's Complete Conservatory Method is the definitive book of study for the trumpet and cornet student and performer. Anyone planning on seriously pursuing the trumpet should consider adding this method book to their library. Another staple of trumpet method material is the Rubank Elementary Method. It is one of the most widely used books for both private and classroom study.
This is just an introduction to some tools to get you started with your trumpet. Check out the complete list below and don't forget to look at our Brass Accessories, Trumpet Methods, and our Trumpet Repertoire.
