Caring for your Woodwind Instrument
- Make sure to swab out your instrument after each time you play. Each of our rentals comes with a cleaning swab. Don't forget to also swab out your mouthpiece.
- Always take your reed out of your mouthpiece and store in the case when you're finished playing. This will extend the life of your reed, prevent it from warping, and it's also just a lot cleaner!
- Polish the outide of your instrument once a week with a polishing cloth. There are polishing cloths made specifically for brass and silver instruments-make sure you're using the right kind.
- If the joints of your instrument are hard to put together, use a small amount of cork grease on the cork, not the metal of the instrument.
